Election day! Around 100 million Deschis are today called to vote for a new parliament in one of the 40,000 polling stations. Strict security measures accompany these. Road traffic is suspended for the next 24 hours and around 600,000 security forces are deployed. Starting on Monday, first results are expected. No matter what, the losers will call for a Hartal. The question is: how long?
Travel conditions? Couldn’t be better, if there were not the damned election, that condemns every forecast for the next few days to idle speculation. We expect Hartal following the official election.
Jashore… (Jessore) or its surroundings is actually worth a longer stay and has received an upgrade or update on our part. To admire here!
Where is the polling station? A mostly four-wheeled railway utility vehicle, which is used as an auxiliary vehicle for inspection and for the transport of workers and tools. The handcar on our photo of the week.
