The toes tanga :) Are correctly identified as thongs in the technical terminus are also degraded object of the desire – at least for various recycling companies. Our new photo of the week “Flip.Flop.Finish.”

World Congregation I On Thursday (until Monday) the time has come: The Bishwa Ijtema, the annual gathering of Muslims in Tongi, on the banks of the Turag, in the outskirts of Dhaka. With 5 million visitors, it is the largest Islamic pilgrimage and exceeds, the Hajj, by 2 million. The Ijtema is one of the largest peaceful gatherings in the world. A prayer meeting that spans five days, during which the prayers are present and listen to scholars recite and explain verses from the Qur'an. It culminates in the Akheri Munajat (closing prayer), where millions of believers raise their hands before Allah and pray for world peace. Needless to say, the traffic situation in Uttara, Tongi and the surrounding area and public life come to a standstill.
World Congregation II The Bishwa Ijtema is seen as a demonstration of Muslim unity, solidarity, mutual love and mutual respect and as an opportunity to reaffirm its commitment to Islamic values. It is apolitical and therefore attracts people of all beliefs from around 150 countries of the world. The majority of his followers, however, come from Bangladesh, as in our photo of the week.

Normality… now almost a month after the polling of 100 million B'deschis. No strikes, no Hartal, no restrictions and no one seems dissatisfied: so there are best travel conditions!
Eyes right! now with our feathered friends. The mortal enemy of every fisherman in triple formation on our photo of the week.

05 January 2019

After the general election All clear! The election was over. The expected call for a strike did not exist, at least until now. We are not here to comment on the outcome, perhaps two from the media: The Daily Star Dhaka: “Foreign observers expressed their satisfaction with the electoral process and called it a shining example for other democratic countries.” The BBC: “A Chittagong correspondent reported that the ballot box was already full of votes, even before the opening of a polling station.”
Travel conditions? Best! Warm during the day, cool in the night, misty in the morning – and no Hartal in sight.

30 December 2018

Election day! Around 100 million Deschis are today called to vote for a new parliament in one of the 40,000 polling stations. Strict security measures accompany these. Road traffic is suspended for the next 24 hours and around 600,000 security forces are deployed. Starting on Monday, first results are expected. No matter what, the losers will call for a Hartal. The question is: how long?
Travel conditions? Couldn’t be better, if there were not the damned election, that condemns every forecast for the next few days to idle speculation. We expect Hartal following the official election.
Jashore… (Jessore) or its surroundings is actually worth a longer stay and has received an upgrade or update on our part. To admire here!
Where is the polling station? A mostly four-wheeled railway utility vehicle, which is used as an auxiliary vehicle for inspection and for the transport of workers and tools. The handcar on our photo of the week.

13 November 2018

The days, yes the days have become short, but nice and warm. But at night, it’s getting cooler now. It was really cold in the north, which means around 15° C.
Trust & Private Tours: Day-fine, detailed tour plans for private tours make a lot of work (these are multi-page PDF). Work that we like to do when we go on tour together afterwards. Sure, there are budget travelers and therefore everyone can ask us anything, but only to rake in the tour plan is a no-go! Unfortunately, this has somehow arrived. However, in the future we will charge for detailed tour plans 100 € per week, but not more than 200 € (and of course, credited in the event of a tour). End of the announcement.
Travel conditions? Could not be better, apart from occasional small strikes of the bus driver. We are on the way, there may be delays in answering inquiries. Please excuse this.
Eid e-Milad-un Nabi Next Wednesday, 21.11. is the anniversary of the Prophet’s birth and death, so nationwide holiday. Thursday should serve as a bridge day and holiday destinations accordingly booked.
Fresh cell treatments… Mahasthangarh (Pundranagar) got an update. To admire here! Furthermore, we have finally visited the new Museum of the Bangladesh War and are very pleasantly surprised. Insights are here!
Mahankali’s Children Since we were already in Mahasthangarh our photo of the week from there. Dusty historical relics vs. kids hype.
