Our story

Our journey or story begins in 2000 with a first, private tour. Many other trips followed, friendships formed, relationships were becoming stronger, as well as hope grew, bringing others the “travel-destination” Bangladesh closer. 2011 were launched The Lonesome Traveler and converted in 2013 into the current type of company (Ltd.).

A joint project

We are the result of a German-Bengali friendship and cooperation. In the years since 2011, we have made a wide variety of experiences that made us grow out of its infancy. We have widespread, excellent contacts in Bangladesh, since 2013, a German guide in Dhaka since 2014, we can offer a contact person in Frankfurt a. M., a German-speaking, Bangladeshi in Dresden too.

Besides the many individual traveler and guests of our group travel both small European specialist travel providers, as well as the major operators are (unfortunately so far only from Germany) become attentive on us. Today we are also travel suppliers such as DIAMIR and Ikarus Tours to our partners. Nevertheless, we are not a globally active tourism group and are also no committed to anyone except the people of Bangladesh and our guests.

What was and (still) is

Many guests later – now grown and experienced – we claim for ourselves, in matters travelling in Bangladesh, experts to be par excellence. Much has changed since 2011, one always remained: our passion for Bangladesh, as well as quite a few of our guests have lost their hearts here. Thrilled they had been all!

Eid Mubarak! That‘s what it says again. Lent is over and is celebrated with a three-day festival, of which May 3rd is certainly the most important. Accordingly, restrictions in public life are to be expected.

03 April 2022

Are you ready for Bangladesh? Then you should get going, we are already very well booked in November. Of course we are happy about that and it is fun to finally be on the road with you again and to show you our Bangladesh. We wish a good trip!

Praying and Fasting From the evening of April 2nd to May 2nd, Muslims in Bangladesh celebrate the fasting month of Ramadan. Life in public will be restricted accordingly and all non-Muslims are advised to be considerate!

The special photo is due to yesterday‘s news. And since such an officer or his VOA department in the Immigration Office simply cannot dig the water out of a Rocket (at least visually), we pay our last respects to the Rocket fleet with this picture.
Our special photo for the retirement of the paddle wheel steamers from active service: “P.S. Masud, Ostrich, Tern & Lepcha - RIP!“
