Entry requirements

Prerequisite for the entry (airway/land route) to Bangladesh is a visa (categories: tourists, business travelers, long-term stay, work stay). You can get the tourist visa in two different ways: firstly by the Embassy of Bangladesh in your home country, on the other hand, directly after landing in Dhaka airport (airport visa or Visa on Arrival). When entering Bangladesh by air and later leaving the country by road to India (and vice versa), a so-called Route Changes Permission is required by the Immigration Office.), a so-called Route Changes Permission is required by the Immigration Office.
Due to COVID-19, however, special regulations currently apply, as follows:

Corona-bylaws update

Travelers must have received the full dose of the drug approved by the WHO and be able to prove this with an official vaccination certificate. Without a vaccination certificate, an RT-PCR-based COVID-19 negative certificate (issued within 72 hours before departure) is mandatory.

Airport visa (Visa on Arrival) update

In addition to EU nationals, this applies to nationals of the following countries: Australia, Bahrain, Canada, China, Japan, Kuwait, Malaysia, New Zealand, Oman, Qatar, Russian Federation, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, South Korea, UAE, USA and UK. Caution! Corona-related exceptions are possible! The airport visa costs 51.00 dollars, it entitles to a maximum stay of 30 days with a one-time entry and exit. It is handed over directly to the airport’s arrival hall in Dhaka. For more information about the procedure, please visit our page FAQ – Frequently Asked Questions.

Tourist visa issued by the embassy

The application for a tourist visa is made directly at the Embassy of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh in your home country. This visa entitles the holder to a maximum stay of 30 days with a single entry and exit (without any alternative). In the normal case, there are no problems with the issue, if you have a travel plan and hotel bookings or an invitation. If your travel plan – apart from the first nights in Dhaka – is not yet fixed, then the application must necessarily enclose a accompanying letter from which this appears, otherwise there will be inquiries. You can find further information about the application on the websites of the embassy of Bangladesh, which is responsible for you.

Eid Mubarak! That‘s what it says again. Lent is over and is celebrated with a three-day festival, of which May 3rd is certainly the most important. Accordingly, restrictions in public life are to be expected.

Are you ready for Bangladesh? Then you should get going, we are already very well booked in November. Of course we are happy about that and it is fun to finally be on the road with you again and to show you our Bangladesh. We wish a good trip!

Praying and Fasting From the evening of April 2nd to May 2nd, Muslims in Bangladesh celebrate the fasting month of Ramadan. Life in public will be restricted accordingly and all non-Muslims are advised to be considerate!

The special photo is due to yesterday‘s news. And since such an officer or his VOA department in the Immigration Office simply cannot dig the water out of a Rocket (at least visually), we pay our last respects to the Rocket fleet with this picture.
