Flights to and in Bangladesh
To Bangladesh you fly from all international airports (via the respective home airports of the airlines). However, we do not offer flights to Bangladesh as part of individual tours, so booking your flight is up to you. We are happy to assist you in finding cheap flights. The search engines of Skyscanner, Idealo and Checkfelix proved to be quite useful.
International airports
- Dhaka Shahjalal International Airport – DAC – has three terminals. Terminal 1 and 2 for international flights, Terminal 3 for domestic flights. Dhaka Airport is home to the national airline Biman Bangladesh Airlines, as well as the private carriers Novoair, Regent Airways and US-Bangla Airlines. All three can be recommended. Shahjalal International Airport is currently served by approximately thirty airlines. It should be noted that three times a week a flight to and from Bhutan (Druk Air).
- Chittagong Shah Amanat International Airport – CGP – in the south offers flights to and from Kolkata (India), Muscat (Oman), Bangkok (Thailand), Doha (Qatar), Abu Dhabi (United Arab Emirates) by US-Bangla Airlines, Regent Airways and Biman Bangladesh Airlines (not daily).
- Sylt Osmani International Airport – ZYL – in the north of the country has a direct connection to and from London (United Kingdom) served by Biman Bangladesh Airlines (not daily).
Domestic airport
Domestic flights always start or land in Dhaka. For example, it is not possible to fly directly from Sylhet to Chittagong, from Sylhet to Dhaka and then from Dhaka to Chittagong. This applies to all national airports/airlines alike.
- Saidpur Airport – SPD – in the north-west near Rangpur
- Rajshahi Shah Makhdum Airport – RJH – in the west, directly on the border with India
- Jessore Airport – JSR – in the southwest at Khulna
- Barisal Airport – BZL – in the south of the country
- Cox’s Bazar International Airport – CXB – in the south-west, directly by the sea
